The Challenge

Ireland’s largest telco, (formerly eircom), has changed its entire corporate brand to eir across every customer touchpoint including all of its digital assets.  For Strata3, (eir’s strategic web partner), the key challenge was to apply the new brand across 14 different digital systems involving literally hundreds of pages of code and design assets across web and mobile app technologies.  Each of the elements also had to be deployed to the CMS whilst the Strata3 team also had to maintain the ongoing site support service concurrently.  All of this workload was delivered in 2 months and had to be coordinated and delivered simultaneously for the public launch of the new brand on Sep 16th 2015.  No pressure, right?

 

 

The Solution

Firstly, we set up environments for the newly proposed sites.  We then conducted a complete audit of each of the sites, apps, domains, content, visual elements and functional elements that would be impacted by the re-brand.  In short this was everything, but this exercise still allowed us to accurately resource the project team in terms of the mix of design and development skills needed to deliver this vast volume of work.  The project team focused on the key customer sales journeys and support sites as priority and subsequently focused on the ancillary sites and apps that support these key consumer sites.  Using agile sprints we coordinated release cycles from UI to front-end development through to CMS back-end as the project methodology and it worked.

 

 

The Result
We hit the deadline with several late evenings and a pre-launch ‘all-nighter’ to sequentially release of both external and internal sites including:eir, Support, My eir (customer portal), eirmobile (formally emobile)​, Studyhub, Pressroom, Broadband Support, Investor relations, Group Pricing, Email Login Page, Sign up, eir Intranet (Staff Portal) and Myeir App
