SAP Appoints Cormac Watters as MD

Today Sees Ex DCC Exertis COO Starts Role as Managing Director of SAP UK and Ireland

141006_SAP_Cormac_Watters.pngCormac Watters has today begun his appointment as the Managing Director of SAP UK and Ireland (UKI), leaving the global technology distribution group DCC Exertis. At SAP, Cormac will be responsible for leading a 1,400 strong team, and executing SAP's UKI's strategy with a focus on building on the success of SAP HANA and the growth of the company's cloud business.

Following his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer applications at Dublin City University, Cormac started his career in IT with Insight Systems and Cap Gemini before starting his own business, Halcyon Systems in 1993. After 6 years, the business was sold to Intentia and Cormac had the full responsibility for the Central Europe region of 400 people with revenues of approximately $120m.

Building on experience in the food sector, Cormac then moved to Aryzta, Greencore, and Chef before going to DCC where he was first held the position of IT Director and then Chief Operating Officer.

Commenting on his appointment, Cormac said: "I'm very excited to be joining SAP. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to help organisations across many industries to capitalise on technologies such as cloud and data analytics to drive competitive advantage. I am eager to make use of my experience from the distribution side of the technology industry to help improve the services and solutions SAP offers its customers."

Cormac will report directly to Franck Cohen, President of SAP Europe, Middle East & Africa, who said: "We are thrilled to welcome Cormac to SAP. His exceptional track record of leadership and business success will greatly benefit our customers, partners and employees in the UK and Ireland, one of our key European markets. Cormac will drive our regional efforts to become the Cloud Company powered by HANA, helping our customers beat complexity by enabling them to run simple."
